The best practise was part of the language course conducted by Integrationslyftet.
In the language course, one part was theatre with the participants, which we also taped, to show them the effort. The students were either given a text or they were to create their own stories so they could act in front of the rest of the class.
The aim of the practice was to learn Swedish in a creative and fun way. Theatre in language learning is proven to be very effective in the process of learning a new language.
The objectives were to do theatre in front of the class in Swedish, to really challenge the students and practice Swedish at many levels.
Firstly, they wrote texts for the theatre or they were given texts that they were supposed to learn. They got some time for preparation and practice and afterwards, they performed in front of the class. Everyone got to give feedback and the atmosphere was good since the students really liked it.
Actors were students (TCN:s) in the language learning and staff from Integrationslyftet.

The best practice could include different numbers of people. However, at least three students could be good but can be done with more people.
The duration would preferably be between 2-3 hours, since the students need time to prepare, perform and also give each other feed-back.
Resources needed is a classroom, students of course and a teacher to give instructions. Either the students are given already written texts, or they write stories by themselves
The strength is that students learn Swedish very quickly with this activity, it is very effective for the learning process. The strength is also that it creates a good atmosphere and people are having fun in the classroom.
One weakness could be that the activity is not suitable for everybody. In our case, this was not a problem, but if some students don’t want to join, then they have to feel free to pass.
Give the students enough time to prepare.
